Just some of our recycling projects
|
As public consciousness for the need to recycle continues to grow, it follows that many companies have to provide convenient and environmentally suitable methods of collecting recyclable materials.
At WH Skinner we design and manufacture a wide range of recycling boxes and displays for items such as batteries, bottles, shoes, cardboard, paper, ink cartridges and so on.

Rainbow Glass Project
|
Our clients asked us to produce a multi-purpose sample display box that would help them market their coloured glass samples. Their first requirement was to hold all the items neatly and in a specific order so that their sales representatives could carry them to show to new customers. Secondly, they wanted to be able to have small shelf displays for the outlets that wanted only some of the samples on display. Thirdly, they wanted to have a cardboard shelf display that would show off their whole range.
This was a relatively short run project of fewer than 100 units so the only way to keep the cost down was to attempt to amalgamate all the requirements into one versatile design.
We were given size and price constraints and told what kind of image they were trying to project to the buying public. These pictures show the finished product together with the graphics that we created for our clients.

Wine Tasting Tray
|
Wine tasting events are becoming much more popular now but there is always one problem. When you are given canapés and a couple of drinks glasses, how do you carry them, how do you eat or drink if your hands are full and how do you look elegant and sophisticated whilst you are wrestling with this problem? A large event organiser brought this challenge to us and asked us to make a recyclable cardboard drinks carrier that was easy to use and at a low cost. At the first event our tray was very well received and indeed became a talking point amongst some of the guests.

Cardboard Void Filler
|
Fibreglass (GRP) moulding companies have very well established methods for their art going back aeons, but times are now changing due to environmental legislation and corporate demands for more environmentally friendly solutions. One of our customers had been using polyurethane foam for filling voids in his moulds and also for creating reinforcing sections for his GRP mouldings. His customer asked that the job be as environmentally friendly as possible and wanted to know the ‘green’ credentials of every material used in the process. Many of these could not be substituted but the void fillers could. When the customer came to us we immediately designed this cardboard void filler section and sent it for testing. Our client was so pleased that he immediately ordered more and was particularly impressed that he could satisfy his customer and save money at the same time.
